Award-winning author, poet, and motivational speaker, Derrick S. Slack, is dedicated to healing the world through his work.  For nearly twenty-five years, he has traveled throughout the United States and to nearly thirty countries around the world, delivering his his dynamic keynote speeches, workshops,  and poetry in such places as Ghana, Cuba, Italy, France, Antigua, Morocco, Senegal, Holland, and China.  He is noted as leaving his audiences in awe with depth and insight that speaks to one's emotions, motivating and inspiring them to reject complacency, remove barriers that may be preventing upward progress, and remain focused on their goals.  He passionately speaks and writes about education, over-coming obstacles, diversity, inclusion,  leadership, facilitating change, and spirituality.  His work is diverse enough that it can be delivered in churches, universities, grade schools, conferences and special events.  Rev. Slack is a dynamic artist that can reach just about anyone with his vast, eclectic works.

Mr. Slack has written and published nine books, including, "19,340: the Mountains of Your Dreams," a stirring, spiritual, and motivating book about overcoming obstacles on the way to pursuing your dreams.  In this book, Slack shows us how to reach the destinations, purposes and goals that we may have in our lives.  By utilizing his faith in God, life experiences, and successful trek to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, he guides us and provides principles in this book that can apply to just about any experience. 

His best-selling and first children's book, ORANGE, is a wonderful book about Diversity, Inclusion, the Power of Words, and getting Help when times are difficult, is sure to be the new favorite book for every child who reads it.  He uses this book in his workshop for children, educators, social workers, and councilors, to teach about self-esteem, kindness, 

Mr. Slack is the founder and Executive Director for the nonprofit organization 5 Stones Youth Ministry, a ministry dedicated to helping all people in all corners of the world who are marginalized, displaced, impoverished, and in harms way and help to connect and provide the resources to address their needs.  This is approached in a way that maintains dignity, love, and the highest forms of care and compassion.  The goal in each community in which we serve is to help build a sense of self-charity, linking and forging partnerships that lead to self-sufficiency.  

He has taught in New York, New Jersey, Ghana West Africa, and currently in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He has also hosted an international radio and TV show in Africa and the host of  a radio show called the D.SLACK Show on the BIG Broadcasting Network that broadcast weekly worldwide.  Mr. Slack lives in Indianapolis with his wife and three daughters.
